Located in Chariton, this steel stringer bridge carries a busy BNSF mainline over Iowa Highway 14 (Main Street).
Built in 1934, this bridge features three steel stringer spans, set onto concrete substructures. These spans also have a concrete fascia.
This type of bridge is commonly used for overpasses, due to the ease of construction. The concrete fascia allows for some decoration.
While not overly decorative, the bridge is very functional and appears to be in good condition. The bridge features a Burlington Route herald.

The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
